WARP-KNITTED GOODS Manufactured on special warp-weft, raschel machines, created through the many parallel running threads - the chain - then bound together. Depending on the thread guide and therewith the mesh building, different bindings, called connections, result. Warp-knitted goods are mostly manufactured from synthetic fibres or even from pure satin, and is used for DUB and for corsage materials. Technically highly developed warp-weft machines enable versatile patterns, called raschel technique or raschel materials. Nearly similar to the Jacquard technique of weaving mills, laces and lace plains, curtains and many other pattern meshed materials are created.
Warp-knitted goods are:
- very low expansion
- drag-stable
- ladders-safe
- deformation resistant
- soft with voluble touch
Charmeuse is the name for the most known of warp-knitted goods. It is linen from continuous threads (e.g. rayon, polyester, rarely even satin).
