Polyacrylic is a synthetic fiber based on petroleum. Polyacrylic fibers have a wool-like, fluffy character and are often used to make sweaters, warm underwear and similar items. The material is soft and elastic, hardly creases and can be easily dyed. Polyacrylic is often mixed with wool to combine the good properties of both fibers, because polyacrylic does not shrink (like wool) and can be easily washed in the washing machine at 30 degrees. It also dries very quickly.
